Re: Dr. Rhonda L. Hamilton’s “Making America Well”
       Plea to our Nation’s Leader!

Dear President Donald Trump,

Congratulations on being elected our 47th President. It is an honor to pen this heartfelt plea for your assistance and leadership commitments to “Make America Well”.

I am a mental health advocate with the Healthy DC and Me Leadership Coalition, a former 2022 and intended 2026 DC Mayoral candidate, who remains focused on positively impacting my fellow Washingtonians’ behavioral health as well as helping to raise the conscious discussion around the stigma associated with mental health. As Washington, DC’s next CEO I look forward to working with members of your healthcare administration to help eradicate root cause contributory factors that have threatened our public safety here in the District of Columbia as well as the wellness of our citizens, which DC’s current mayor, Muriel Bowser has shamefully and unacceptably failed to manage appropriately.

My dear native home of Washington, DC has not faired well under the leadership of Muriel Bowser, which has weakened the resolve of our splendid blend of 700,000 fiercely proud American citizens.

I recall your previous references of being a political “outsider” which obviously has come to pass. I too am considered an “outsider” in my native city of Washington, D.C.’s political arena and circles. My political identity is neither Democrat nor Republican. As a member of the Independent political party, I have come forward as a small business woman, and proper representative of the people of DC to responsibly address the low living and governing standards adopted and represented by D.C.’s current leadership. The failed public safety along with the disgraceful corruption at the governmental level, has undoubtedly shaped the public’s and your assessment of my city.

Your colleagues Representative Ogles of Tennessee, and Senator Lee of Utah have introduced The Bringing Oversight to Washington and Safety to Every Resident (BOWSER) Act to repeal the DC Home Rule Act and restore Congressional authority over the nation’s capital. With all due respect Sir, the crime rates in Representative Ogles’ state of Tennessee consistently exceed national averages, with cities such as Memphis and Nashville experiencing troubling increases in criminal activity. In fact, Tennessee is included among the most dangerous places in the U.S. along with Detroit, St. Louis, Baltimore, Little Rock, and Birmingham.

Additionally, Senator Lee’s Utah constituent’s live amongst exposures to poor air quality which is especially harmful to children, the elderly, and citizens with respiratory problems. Unfortunately, this is a concern for citizens residing here in Washington, D.C. as well, which provides opportunity for us as leaders to demonstrate collaborative and intentional wellness legislative solutions for the betterment of our constituents.

As the nation’s elected leader who is responsible for the wellness of approximately 347 million Americans, I have faith in your ability to move our country forward, fairly, eventually. In doing so, I am not certain as to why my dear hometown of Washington, D.C. would not be allowed to correct the failed matters of Ms. Bowser’s governance through our own practices of democracy and local elections, without the interference and over-reaching behaviors of your Congressional colleagues, as well as your demonstrated Executive Order. The matters of Representative Ogles, and Senator Lee home states, as well as states across America have just as many pressing issues as those that you have unfairly used to attack my dear city of Washington, D.C. You have publicly declared your intent of remaking Washington, D.C. in your image without recognizing your…

…unwarranted imposition of trauma and cruelty on Washingtonians who generationally continue to pay the highest per-capita federal income taxes in the United States.

Sir, I would appreciate it greatly if you would consider for a moment how healthy our nation could be if all of our elected leaders themselves would envision an America where their leadership and its impact on their legacies, and the legacies of American families across our great nation, were valued far more than our political, or cultural differences, challenged points of view, and power-grabbing behaviors. Statistically, the median age of Washington. DC’s citizenship is reported to be 34 years of age. The median age in the United States is projected to be 38 years of age. In contrast, the average age of members in the 119th Congress is 58.9 years of age, which is the third oldest since 1789, according to researched sources. It is my belief that America’s strengths and behaviors must be representative of our commitment to building a nation and ultimately a world where all of our young people can be proud to live in and lead.

As you set about continuing to demonstrate your “swagger”, (a very confident and typically arrogant or aggressive gait or manner.), as our nation’s 47th President, I offer the following introduction of what “S.W.A.A.G.A.” represents in my professional walk,

Strong Wellness Accountabilities And Generational Awareness.

Making America Great cannot and should not involve the harming of our legacies and future generations primarily because they are made in the image of our universal differences. As responsible and intellectual leaders we must stop the infliction of left over prejudices, unhealthy leadership, and political party retaliations. Today’s young professionals, scholars, and citizens are invested in advanced modes of communication, empathy, and curiosities. Since we as “aging” leaders continue to fail many of our younger populations, perhaps it’s time to recognize and atone for our repeated unhealthy influences on our legacies and leaders of tomorrow’s free world.

The betterment of America’s overall wellness and civilized presence in the world rests on your shoulders. Our young people want to “WIN“, however they’re being impacted by unhealthy adults who will not or do not recognize that wellness is necessary.

This proud daughter of a deceased army veteran, who lost his battle with undiagnosed Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (P.T.S.D.) at 51-years of age would humbly be pleased to meet with the sitting President of the United States to discuss the removal of Washington, D.C.’s current mayor, the wellness practices for our future generations as well as yours and mine shared commitment for a healthy and well American society.

Proudly in Service of Others; Let’s Make America Well,
