THE “HAMILTON” EFFECT

Since returning from my 2022 DC mayoral candidacy, I’ve been busy advocating and making my voice heard; whether “boots on the ground”, or testifying before the DC Council, the Hamilton Effect has remained in full effect!

Here’s a snapshot of my 2023 and 2024 years in review…

  • Public Witness – Committee on Health’s Roundtable Combating the Opioid and Fentanyl Crisis in DC, Before the Council of the District of Columbia (DC currently has 98% fentanyl potency on the streets and a new more deadly drug called “tranq”, that is flesh eating and laced with fentanyl.
  • Public Witness – Department of Buildings: Performance Oversight Hearing Before the Council of DC Committee of the Whole. (Addressing the Slumlord housing issues in the District.)
  • Public Witness – Committee on Health; Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety; Committee on Recreation, Libraries, and Youth Affairs; Roundtable on Public Safety & Behavioral Health Services and Support for Youth. Before the Council of the District of Columbia.
  • Organized the Juneteenth Prayer Breakfast and Rally at Freedom Plaza to “call out” harmful, and life-threatening Dialysis Industry practices due to corporate greed and congressional systemic failures. (www.mitv.fyi)
  • Filmed a documentary on Dialysis, our organization’s outreach, and preparation for our upcoming 2024 Dialysis “Rally to Congress” and meeting with congressional members to discuss needed industry reforms (Collaboration with Justice Seekers Texas, Dialysis Advocates, LLC., and “The Othrs” videography, and filming crew.   • Panel Speaker – Jobs Not Guns forum with Councilwoman Pinto and Attorney General Brian Schwalb.
  • Planning Committee – Volunteers of America 2024 Spiritual Colloquium on Gun Violence at the Metropolitan Community Church of Wash. DC.
  • Planning Committee – The Rotary Club of Wash. DC sponsored 2024 Golf event, honoring children, and survivors of Foster Care. “Rotary’s Championship Fight for Youth”.
  • Planning Committee – New Royal Family of Advocates for the Homeless Parade in Wash., DC.
  • CEO of the Human & Civil Rights DC Citizens’ Protest at Freedom Plaza.
  • Orchestrator of the “H.E.A.R.T.” Act housing legislation aimed at eradicating “slumlord” behavior in DC’s local rental market.
  • Actively meeting with members of the DC Council to discuss Rhonda’s C.E.A.S.E. Act legislative framework to help bring forward responsible legislation to address DC’s unbalanced governing and waste of taxpayer dollars.
